This tour--about 135 miles in length--will take you down the Muskingum River valley to Marietta, an Ohio River town that is one of the oldest settlements in Ohio. From there you go to Athens, the site of Ohio University (and Holt BMW), then back to Lancaster.

Follow SR 37 in an easterly direction (signs will say 37 South) past New Lexington about 45 miles to McConnelsville, the seat of Morgan County.

Follow SR 7 to downtown and to the Ohio riverfront; the old Lafayette Hotel is to the right a block or two as you come to a ‘T' at the river front. There's a lot to see in Marietta; the Lafayette desk has brochures and can give directions. To leave, turn around on SR 7.

Explore a while, visit the Ohio University campus, sample a brew if you wish at O'Hooley's Brewpub (Union St.), and enjoy the ambience. Holt's BMW is located about 8 miles east of town on US 50 toward Belpre, at the intersection of SR 690.
To leave, retrace your steps back to US 33 and follow towards Columbus. Lancaster is about 50 miles up the road on 33.
